Ah Cacao Real Chocolate, SA de CV is a niche Mexican chocolate brand[1] based in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo near Cancun. The company was founded in 2003 by Mónica Tello[2], an entrepreneur from Mexico City. Even though cacao was first domesticated in Mexico, today Ah Cacao Real Chocolate is one of only a few companies making premium chocolate products from Mexican cacao. Ah Cacao products are sold in Mexico, the USA[3], and Canada[4].
The company operates three stores in Mexico under the name Ah Cacao Chocolate Café[5]. These stores sell packaged chocolate products, prepared coffee and chocolate drinks and desserts, such as brownies[6][7][8].
An integral part of the company's identity is its support of wildlife conservation efforts[9][10], especially in the Riviera Maya.
In 2008 Ah Cacao Chocolate Café was featured on Rachel Ray's Tasty Travels, a Food Network TV show[11].
